It will be a chance to have a good time and learn a few things this Saturday at Marr Park, as they hold their Halloween hike. This Halloween event will be one that the whole family can participate in and learn something as well. Pam Holtz, naturalist with the Washington County Conservation Board, says there will be activities both inside the nature center and outside as you walk the trail.

Around the mini-lake, you’ll meet up with butterflies, dragonflies, and fireflies. The trail will be lit by luminaries. However, since moonrise won’t occur till hours later, you may wish to bring flashlights to help on your way. This will be a non-scary activity that even younger children can attend.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at Mary Marr Lodge. Guests will be able to enter the trail until 8 p.m. You can hear our complete conversation with Holtz on In Touch with Southeast Iowa during today’s midday and evening magazines.
