It was a busy night for Mid-Prairie School Board members Monday night. Board members voted 3-1 not to pay $61,000 in additional fees submitted by Shive-Hattery, the architectural firm working on the district wide construction projects. Board members sighted the contract which calls for estimates to be submitted before any additional fee work is performed by the firm.

Members set a public hearing date to get input from the public on the new multi-purpose building to be constructed on the high school property. That public hearing will be held on October 26th beginning at 8 p.m. in the high school library.

Board members also will be forming a study group to look into options in dealing with the differences in class sizes among the district’s three elementary schools. Any members of the public who would be interested in serving are urged to contact one of the elementary school principals.
