With the construction of a combined central office and alternative learning center at Mid-Prairie High school, Superintendent Mark Schneider says the changes being made will also enhance security at the building. The construction will move the main office from the second floor down to the first floor by the main doors. Schneider says the last addition to the building was made in 1997 and school security was not as big of a concern back then as it is now.

You can hear part two of our conversation with Schneider during today’s In Touch With Southeast Iowa program during the midday and evening magazines.
