The 2015 Iowa High School football playoffs open this Wednesday and several KCII area teams are set to be a part of the postseason competition.

The Washington Demons (7-2 overall; 5-1 Class 3A District 5) will face a regional rival in the Solon Spartans (5-4 overall; 4-3 Class 3A District 4). Wednesday’s meeting will be the fourth time the two teams will compete against each other since the 2013 season, and the seventh overall. Washington has won three of the meetings, including a game in the state semifinals in 2013, a 14-9 victory.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks (7-2 overall; 5-2 Class 2A District 5) are opening their postseason slate in Prairie City, facing Prairie City Monroe (7-2 overall; 5-1 Class 2A District 7. The Columbus Wildcats (3-6 overall; 2-5 Class 1A District 6 ) snuck into the playoffs as a four seed and will be on the road in their postseason opener versus the undefeated West Branch Bears (9-0 overall; 7-0 Class 1A District 5). The Bears scored 31 or more points in every game this season, while allowing less than 12 points a game defensively.

The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves (9-0 overall; 7-0 Class A District 6) finished the regular season undefeated and will host the North Linn Lynx (4-5 overall; 3-3 Class Class A District 5). North Linn enters the postseason losing three of their final four regular season games.
