A 60-percent vote of support is needed to pass the bond referendum for a new Washington County Public Health Building and voters will weigh in November 3rd. The Board of Health discussed the project at their recent meeting and administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski explained they are meeting with groups in the county to answer questions.

The project is estimated to cost $2.8 million, but Seward added they will work to lower the cost. Grants are being sought to help fund the project, which will be fully furnished and built on land owned by the county across from the sheriff’s office.

A public forum is being held at the Washington Public Library Wednesday at 7 p.m. to help answer any questions.
