Washington County farmers are reporting higher yields for corn than some other counties in southeastern Iowa, according to Meaghan Anderson, field agronomist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. She adds her office has received a wide range of reported yields from 180 to 200 bushels per acre.

The 10-year average yield for Washington County is 163 bushels per acre. Last year, Washington County had it’s highest average yield with 191 bushels per acre, up from 132 bushels per acre in 2012.
