With a unanimous vote of approval at last night’s Washington City Council meeting an ordinance declaring Central Park a smoke free place was adopted. The council held the third and final reading of the ordinance at their meeting. Under the ordinance it is now illegal to smoke in Central Park and it is a simple misdemeanor that can be punishable by a fine of $50. In addition, it is illegal to use electronic cigarettes in the designated smoke free place.
