A light agenda awaited Winfield-Mt. Union school board members at their recent meeting. Board members discussed the instructional support program tax levy, which will be up for renewal in June of 2017. This is a continuous levy that the board must renew every five years. This year’s levy will bring in approximately $183,000 for the district. The money comes from both property tax and income surtax and is used for teacher salaries and instructional supplies.

Board members will hold a public hearing on the levy renewal during their next meeting. That meeting will be held November 11th beginning at 6 p. m. in the school library and is open to the public,
