A blue tongue skink, ferret and gopher tortoise were welcome visitors at the Washington Public Library Wednesday morning. The Blank Park Zoo provided an educational program for young children and their parents. Children listend as a zoo storybook was read and then they were able to pet the animals.

The program was in part funded by a grant the library received from Hills Bank and Trust. Librarian Jolisa Weidner says they are hoping to have more programs during the school year for families. For photos from the event visit KCII Radio’s Facebook page.
