Two Washington County 4-H members recently received leadership awards. McKenna Brinning of the Prairie Pride 4-H Club and Hannah Van Roekel of the Limecreek Limelights were awarded the “I Dare You Leadership Award” for personal integrity, balance leading and potential for leadership. The award is given annually by the American Youth Foundation and is the highest honor given to Washington County 4-H youth.

It was first offered in 1941 by the late William H. Danforth who challenged young people to achieve their highest potential and to influence others through service.
