Two Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country runners have been honored by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

Mid-Prairie’s Ryan Errthum and Hannah Van Roekel have both been named to the 2015 Academic All-State teams. In order to receive this honor an athlete must be a senior, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher, hold a 28 or higher cumulative score on the ACT and qualify for the state meet or finish in the top 30 at their state qualifying meet during the year they are nominated.

Errthum led the Golden Hawks at one meet this year. He was the top Mid-Prairie finisher at the Williamsburg meet to open the season with his third place finish. Errthum placed ninth at the state qualifier, helping Mid-Prairie to the meet championship. Errthum finished 26th in the state meet at Fort Dodge, helping the Golden Hawks to a fourth place team finish at state.

Van Roekel placed 12th at the state qualifying meet at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Columbus Junction, helping Mid-Prairie sweep the boys and girls championships at a state qualifier for the first time in school history. At the state meet in Fort Dodge Van Roekel placed 47th overall, helping Mid-Prairie to an eighth place finish in class 2A.
