The Iowa Mennonite School girls basketball team saw their first competitive action of the year Thursday night, scrimmaging North Cedar at the Mid-Prairie jamboree.

Each game that was played was one half in length. IMS opened the game with a basket from Suzanna Yoder to take a 2-0 lead. North Cedar turned the tide with their pressure defense, forcing 13 total IMS turnovers on the night. The Lady Knights turned those turnovers into points and a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter North Cedar continued to push the pace, finishing the period on a 13-4 run, en route to the 27-11 final score. In the game IMS was led by Suzanna Yoder’s four points and four  rebounds. IMS officially opens their girls basketball season on Tuesday when they travel to Mediapolis.
