The 13th annual KCII Caring Christmas food drive is officially underway. The event commenced with a food drive at the Kalona Clinic of Washington County Hospital and Clinics today from 10 a.m. to noon. KCII General Manager Joe Nichols shares the annual event is held to give back to the community. Non-perishable foods are accepted, as well as toiletry items like deodorant, shampoo and toothpaste.

The Big Red Radio will be out and about across the area collecting items for local food pantries. The next stop is at WCHC’s Community Healthfest in Washington Saturday morning.
