Fresh off their first winning season in 16 years, a pair of juniors on this year’s Lone Tree Lion volleyball team (16-11 overall) were recognized for their work on the court this fall. Elena Sieverding and Liz Dodson were both named to the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s Class 1A Southeast District volleyball squad.

Sieverding was Lone Tree’s main offensive threat, smashing a team best 232 kills. In addition, She recorded 24 aces, second most on the Lions’ team.

Dodson’s biggest contribution came defensively, recording a team most 331 digs. She was one of the Lions’ main offensive contributors, crushing 124 kills, the second most on the team. She also served up 47 aces, the most on the squad.

The pair helped the Lone Tree Lion volleyball team to a 16-11 overall record, a six win improvement from last season.
