The Mid-Prairie boys basketball team opens practice this week as they look ahead to the 2015-16 season.

Last year the Golden Hawks finished the season with a 1-21 overall record. The Hawks lone win came in River Valley Conference play as they downed West Liberty 46-45 on January 20th. Six Seniors departed from last year’s team including Collin Weber, Devon Young, Trent Fisher, Matt McGaffey, Cody Knepp and Benny Ahrens.

Mid-Prairie returns their leading scorer from a year ago in Nolan Faselt who averaged just under 10 points per game. Faselt is also Mid-Prairie’s leading returning rebounder at three per game from a season ago. The Golden Hawks will also be looking for contributions from other returners including Nathan Reed, Derek Rich, Caleb Statler, and Ben Stone.

Mid-Prairie’s first action in 2015 is Monday, November 23rd at their basketball jamboree when they host Highland. Mid-Prairie opens the regular season on Tuesday, December 1st when they host Tipton.
