The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team made progress in building their program during the 2015 season.

The 2015 edition of the Golden Hawks improved their overall record by a game. Mid-Prairie ended the year in 2014 with a 14-17 mark, compared to 15-16 in the recently completed season. In conference play for 2014 Mid-Prairie ended with a 3-7 record, including wins over Tipton, Iowa City Regina and Wilton. In 2015, the Golden Hawks finished with a 2-6 mark in the league, scoring wins over Monticello on the road, their first ever River Valley Conference cross over victory, and a win over Wilton. The Golden Hawks also advanced out of the first round of the River Valley Conference tournament for the first time in program history, losing to North Cedar and beating Durant in the opening round of play before falling to West Liberty in the second round.

Statistically, Mid-Prairie improved across the board. The Golden Hawks ended 2015 with 803 kills, an average of 9.13 kills per set, in 2014 the Hawks finished with 602 total kills, a 200 kill improvement from last season. In the assists department, the Golden Hawks ended this year with 748, compared to just 507 in 2014, another improvement of more than 200. From the service line Mid-Prairie pounded out 184 aces in 2015, compared to 138 in 2014. Defensively, the Golden Hawks posted 1,269 digs for the 2015 season, bettering their mark from 2014 by nearly 100. They finished last year’s campaign with 1,184.

The Golden Hawks ended the 2015 season in the first round of regional play when they were eliminated by the Mediapolis Bullettes in five games on October 26th.
