Eight Mid-Prairie high school students are back from their trip to Louisville, Kentucky for the National Future Farmers of America convention. The eight students, along with advisor Elsa Schmidt, had several opportunities to enjoy new experiences on the trip.

Members were able to tour the Tucker Family Tobacco Farm to learn more about the tobacco industry, they also took a tour of Churchill Downs and visited the Kentucky Derby Museum.

The students heard speakers such as Kristen Schmidt, the FFA Central Region Vice President and Amberley Snyder, a rodeo competitor who is paralyzed. Snyder was the keynote speaker for the convention.

Schmidt says she likes taking students to the national convention each year to learn new things about agriculture.
