It wasn’t just a successful fall on the gridiron for the student athletes involved in the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves’ football program. The Wolves’ achievements on the football field included a 10-win 2015 campaign, an undefeated regular season, and finishing among the top 16 teams in Class A football.

Twenty-nine students athletes and managers on the W-MU football team were all-stars in the classroom as well, being named to the Class A District 6 All-Academic team. In order to make the team, students had to maintain a 3.25 grade point average during the first quarter of the school year.

The W-MU students who made the All-Academic team include: Garrett Baker, Colin Gerling, Kyle Giese, Graham Hagge, Kaleb Hagge, Carter Hinkle, Collin Hinkle, Jordan Hudson, Darren Hunter, Sam Jennings, Matthew Niebuhr, Bryce Robinson, B.J. Rodgers, Kash Rossister, Kolt Rossister, Beau Van Amerongen, Hannah Matthews, Haley Rodgers, Karley Scheel, Katherin Bird, Alyssa Carleton, Mikayla Davis, Dakota Haines, Caitlin Jamison, Allie McArtor, Makenna Mullin, Kenzie Scott, Kendra Stafford, and Cheyenne West.

W-MU finished their football season 10-1 overall, falling 29-28 to the Lynnville-Sully Hawks in the second round of the Class A playoffs.
