Despite not seeing the field consistently until week six of the season, Washington native Tommy Peterson made an impression on the football coaches of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Peterson, who graduated from Washington High School in May, was named as an ICCAC honorable mention football team for his contributions this fall to the Iowa Western Community College Reivers squad.

Peterson worked his way into the starting lineup during the Reivers game with the Garden City on October 3, and has played in every game since for Iowa Western at left tackle. He has helped the Rievers average over 35 points per game over the final six weeks of the season.

The Reivers regular season culminated on November 7, winning 31-3 over the Iowa Central Community College Tritons. After dropping their first two games of the season, Iowa Western won their final nine games of the regular season.

Iowa Western Community College was rewarded for their 9-2 regular season with a spot in the Graphic Edge Bowl next Sunday at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. The Reivers are set to face the No. 17 Georgia Military Bulldogs. The Bulldogs went through their regular season schedule with eight wins and three losses, winning their final four games of the regular season.

The Graphic Edge Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. Sunday at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls.
