Washington has received nearly twice the normal amount of rain for November. According to the National Weather Service, Washington has observed 4.4 inches of precipitation in addition to snowfall, above the normal 2.35 inches.

The recent rainfall caused area river levels to rise above flood stage. The English River at Kalona rose nearly two feet above flood stage over the weekend. Also, the Iowa River went above flood stage at Lone Tree and Wapello, as did the Skunk River at Sigourney. All of which have fallen below flood stage as of Monday morning, however rain is in the forecast.
