Highland students receive the grant for robotics.

In 11 grants the Washington County Riverboat Foundation awarded $96,577 to nine area schools this week. At Wednesday’s fall 2015 grant distribution 28 grants for a total of $3.8 million were awarded, $3.5 million went to the YMCA of Washington County.

Washington Community Schools received $10,000 for work on a consumer science classroom. St. James received $22,152 for a Success Maker update. Highland schools received two grants, $2,600 for robotics and $25,000 for iPads and MacBooks. An outdoor classroom will be going in at Mid-Prairie with the help of an $8,500 grant. Keota, Fairfield, Regina, Sigourney and Cedar Rapids Kennedy also received grants.
