For residents in the city of Riverside, there will be a new face in the Mayor’s office come January. Allen Schneider will be taking the office previously held by Bill Poch who decided not to run for re-election. Schneider defeated his opponent, Kevin Kiene by a vote of 212-137.

Schneider, who was making his first bid for public office, says he hopes to add positivity to city government. Among things he would like to accomplish are improving the downtown area and adding activities for residents to do. Schneider added he was very pleased with the voter turnout, over 34% of registered voters in Riverside went to the polls, the highest turnout of any precinct in Washington County.
