Most of southeast Iowa is abnormally dry. According to this week’s U.S. Drought Monitor report, all of Jefferson, Henry and Louisa counties, as well as most of Jefferson and Washington counties is abnormally dry. Across Iowa, 15.8 percent of the state is abnormally dry and two percent is in moderate drought, down from nearly five percent last week.

Iowa’s neighbor to the south, Missouri, has 50.3 percent of it’s land considered abnormally dry at this time. Across the entire Midwest region, 30.6 percent is abnormally dry and almost five percent is in moderate drought.
