Just over 15 percent of Iowa is experiencing drought conditions at this time, about two percent less than last week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, nearly five percent of Iowa is in moderate drought, in the northeast and southeast corners of the state. The southern half of Washington County is considered abnormally dry, along with portions of Keokuk County. All of Jefferson County is abnormally dry and all of Louisa and Henry counties are in moderate drought or abnormally dry. At this time last year Iowa did not have any drought conditions.
