Three people were injured in a two vehicle crash just after 9:30 Sunday night on Highway 34 near the Des Moines and Henry county line. The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Russell Boyd of New London was eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 34, Boyd’s car struck a westbound van driven by 45-year-old Kelly Crooks of Mount Pleasant.

Three people in the Crooks van were injured. Forty-seven-year-old James Crooks, 16-year-old Jacob Crooks and 11-year-old Jordan Crooks were all transported to Great River Medical Center in Burlington for treatment of injuries. The crash remains under investigation. The Iowa State Patrol, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office and Danville Fire and Rescue all responded to the scene.
