By their standards, this year’s Winfield-Mount Union volleyball season (17-16 overall) had a rebuilding year. Coming off a 24-win campaign last year, the Wolves had to overcome the loss of three starters to graduation, two of whom were all-conference players.

The Wolves filled in the holes in their starting lineup, and came away with a 17-win season. W-MU finished with a winning record for the eighth straight fall, and it was also the eighth straight top-three finish in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference standings for the Wolves.

Senior setter Caitlin Jamison became the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 career assists. She facilitated 456 points for W-MU this season, and finished her high school career with 1,019 assists.

Sophomore Pearl Krieger-Coble assumed a key offensive role for the Wolves, smashing a team-high 198 kills this season. She ranked fourth in the conference in the category.

Junior Sophie Kongable and senior Cassidy Lennie tied for the lead in digs with 305. Sophomore Lauren Jamison added 286 digs.

W-MU saw their season come to an end in the first round of the Class 1A Region 7 tournament to the Burlington Notre Dame Nikes.  The Wolves lost the match in straight sets (20-25, 24-26, 14-25), ending their season with an overall record of 17-16.
