Heading into the season, WACO head volleyball coach Jay Coble identified two weaknesses his team had. The loss of Aaliyah Brown, Erika Leichty, and Kalicia Miller to graduation not only left the Warriors with a less experienced group on the floor, but they also took their above average height with them.

This year’s WACO volleyball team didn’t have a member measure above 5 feet 9 inches tall. The Warriors worked through their shortcomings to end the regular season with nine victories.

WACO’s offense was led this season by senior Cierra McCartor. She was one of two players with over 100 kills on the season, smashing a team-high 108. McCartor also collected 27 aces serving, the third most on the squad.

Junior Mayme Hihn had a strong finish to her 2015 campaign. She finished second on the team in kills with 107, smashing 26 kills in the final three matches of the season.

Junior Hallie Kissell facilitated the Warriors offense, dishing out a team-high 302 assists.

Defensively, three players recorded over 140 digs this fall. McCartor led the team with 198. Junior libero McKenna White saved 194 balls from hitting the floor, while Kissell dug up 147 ball.

The WACO Warriors volleyball team ended the year with a record of 9-19 overall, six fewer wins than last season.
