The Washington County Conservation Board decided to ask for bids on some timber harvesting in two wildlife areas. There will be between 30 and 50 acres of mostly silver maple trees in the English River Wildlife Area. The board is currently accepting bids from Iowa Department of Natural Resources bonded loggers only for only bottom land timber. The other area, involved a smaller amount, less than 10 acres of mostly walnut and ash trees, at the Clemons Creek Wildlife and Recreation Area.

Board members hope to open bids at their regular December meeting on December 10th.
