The Winfield million dollar lottery winner stepped forward and claimed his prize Monday afternoon at lottery headquarters in Clive.

Forty-nine-year-old Mike Hartman of Winfield, a Marine Corps veteran won by matching all the numbers, except the Mega Ball in the Mega Millions drawing. He bought his ticket at The Countree Store in Winfield. Store manager Teresa Jacobs says when Hartman scanned his ticket, he was in shock and had to sit down. After taxes he will take home approximately $700,000. His plans for the money include planning for retirement.

The holder of a million dollar ticket purchased in Burlington also came forward Monday. She is 75-year-old Betty Downs of Burlington, who purchased her ticket back on November 10th at the River Mart convenience store in Burlington.
