The Sigourney Savage volleyball team (10-16 overall) encountered growing pains during the 2015 campaign. The Savages’ up and down season saw the squad run winning streaks as large as four games, and losing streaks as long as four.

Senior Sierra Davis was the best offensive weapon for Sigourney this fall, smashing a team-high 239 kills, the fourth most in the South Iowa Cedar League.

The Savages had several meaningful contributions from underclassmen. Sophomore Leah Carter led the squad with 482 assists, the second most in the league. Sophomore Brooke Waechter was Sigourney’s libero this season, posting a team-best 240 digs. Sophomore Autum Barthleman and freshman Solane Magill combine for over 100 kills.

The Savages finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-16, a two win regression from last season. The Savages are set to return four of their top five offensive weapons next season in junior Anna Ohland, Carter, Barthleman, and Magill.
