If you have wanted to learn how to participate in the upcoming Iowa caucuses, your oppurtunity is coming up this weekend. The League of Latin American Citizens will hold caucus training in Columbus Junction on Saturday December 5th from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the local Civic Center. Representatives from the Democratic and Republican parties will be on hand to discuss the differences on how each party caucuses. Jose Estrada President of LULAC Council 317 says “We want voters to understand the caucus process and to be comfortable with it. People should know that you don’t have to be a party insider in order to participate. The Caucuses are open to all voters and this training is too.” Those who join will also be invited to participate in a mock caucus. The effort is free and open to all who are interested in joining the political process but are uncertain how to get involved. Iowa voters will caucus on Tuesday February 2nd.
