A new season of Washington Demon girls and boys bowling is set to begin this afternoon at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl. The Demons will be the home team in today’s season opener, entertaining the Sigourney Savages in the district’s first ever bowling competition. This is the first year Sigourney Community Schools have offered bowling as a winter sports activity.

Sophomore’s Kylan Gillette and Tucker Renoux each posted average scores of 154 last year.

The top returner on the girls’ side is sophomore Anna Marie Walter, who posted an average score of 125 in her first season of varsity bowling.

The first frames of today’s non-conference bowling meet are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl in Washington. Listen to tomorrow’s sports page for results from the meet.
