One word should be kept in mind while setting New Year’s resolutions – smart. Danielle Pettit-Majewski, administrator of Washington County Public Health, recommends using SMART goals for resolutions with them being specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound. She explains these are small, specific goals that can be built on throughout the year. An example is replacing one soda each day with a glass of water or standing up once each hour. She adds it is important to set individual goals that can be met where you are.
