The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team is on the road for the final three games of their pre-Christmas break schedule, beginning with Friday’s game at West Liberty.

Mid-Prairie enters play at 3-2 overall this season, 2-2 in conference play. The Golden Hawks beat Wilton last Friday 65-44 in Wellman. The Hawks were led in the game by Alex Rath with 21 points, Addison Rath had 16 and Ireland Hostetler finished with 14. This season Addison Rath leads the way for Mid-Prairie at 14 points per game, Alex Rath averages 13 and Ali Butters is at 12 per contest.

West Liberty enters tonight’s game with a 2-3 overall record, the Comets are 1-3 in the River Valley Conference. In their last game West Liberty was beaten by Iowa City Regina 69-34. The Comets were led by Kyleigh Becker with nine points. Hailey Daufeldt leads West Liberty this year at 13 points per game, Macy Akers is putting up 10 points per contest. Last year Mid-Prairie swept the Comets, winning 54-44 in Wellman and 50-45 on the road.
