The Mid-Prairie wrestling team was in action Saturday the North Linn Lynx Varsity Invitational. Mid-Prairie placed seventh out of 13 teams with their score of 100 points.

Williamsburg took home the team title with 202 points. Mid-Prairie crowned three champions on the day including Duncan McCain taking home the title at 120lbs. McCain won the championship bout by major decision over Dakota Henry of Belle Plaine. Visouth Peterschmidt was the champion at 195lbs, Peterschmidt bested Miguel Sanchez of Williamsburg in the title match 3-1 in sudden victory. Levi Duwa also took home the championship for the Golden Hawks. Duwa won the 220lb weight class by pinning Jordan Baumler of North Fayette Valley in 4:21. The Golden Hawks are now on break for the Holiday and will be back in action Monday, January 4th when they travel to Iowa City Regina.
