The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams hit the road for the first time this year when they travel to Iowa City Regina for a River Valley Conference match up Tuesday night.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 2-1 on the season, after posting back to back wins in conference play. Most recently a 55-46 win over Northeast of Gooselake on Friday night in Wellman. In the game the Hawks were led by Ali Butters with 22 points, Addison Rath added 15 and Alex Rath had 10. The Iowa City Regina girls enter tonight at 3-0 on the season and currently ranked No. 2 in Class 2A. Last time out the Regals knocked off Clear Creek Amana 66-34, led by 20 points from Mary Crompton. These two teams matched up twice a season ago with each winning on the others home floor, Mid-Prairie with a 56-49 win in Iowa City, and the Regals with a 47-42 win in Wellman.

In the boys contest, Mid-Prairie enters tonight 0-2 on the year. Their most recent action was a 67-39 loss to Northeast of Gooselake on Friday night in Wellman. Mid-Prairie was led in the game by Caleb Statler’s seven points. Iowa City Regina enters tonight 0-1 on the season. The Regals lost to Clear Creek Amana 51-48 on Saturday in Iowa City. The Regals were led in the game by Andrew Adamec with 16 points. Last year these two teams met twice with Regina sweeping the series, winning 69-34 in Iowa City and 60-22 in Wellman.
