The Keota School Board has moved forward with a plan to demolish a property it purchased in October. At a special meeting the board acquired the property at 510 N. Ellis St. in Keota for $40,000. During the December board meeting the school decided the property wasn’t fit to rent out. Keota Superintendent Mark Schneider tells KCII News, the property is across from the school and there are no plans for anything outside of the demolition.

Schneider notes the school and the City of Keota will share the cost of demolition and he doesn’t think it will cost the school anymore than $5,000.
