It has been another successful start to the season for the Highland Huskies boys’ basketball team (7-1 overall). Returning all but one starter off last season’s 19-5 campaign, Highland has rattled off seven wins in their first eight games.

The Huskies have won games in a variety of ways. Three of their wins are by 19 or more points, while grinding out four wins by nine points or less.

Junior Trent Lasek, a first team all-conference performer as a sophomore, is off to another productive campaign. He leads the Huskies in scoring, producing 119 points during December. He’s the team’s top facilitator as well, dishing out 43 assists, 28 more than the rest of his teammates.

Senior Tereze Lanfair is Highland’s second best scorer, scoring 90 points off the bench. He scored 123 points all of last season.

Highland returns to Southeast Iowa Super Conference North action January 5, traveling to WACO to face the Warriors (2-7 overall).
