The Iowa Mennonite School boys basketball team has entered the Christmas break.

IMS made their way to the holidays with an impressive 6-1 overall record, and a 5-1 mark in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division. In their final pre-break contest, IMS rolled through Cardinal of Eldon 54-30. The lone loss on the season thus far for Iowa Mennonite came on December 18th when they fell at home to the Pekin Panthers 56-45.

IMS is the 10th best shooting team in the state through the first half of the season, standing at 49%. Individually, IMS is led by Eli Gingerich who is averaging 17 points per game, tied with Jovonte Squiers of Lone Tree for best in the conference. Gingerich also leads IMS with 50 assists on the season, second best in the conference. Drake Brezina has the team rebounding lead at five per game. IMS opens up the second half of their season on Saturday, January 2nd when they travel to Washington to take on the Demons.
