The Iowa Mennonite School boys basketball team suffered their first loss of the season Friday night, falling to the Pekin Panthers at Hillcrest Union 56-45.

Pekin started the game on a 9-2 run and led 16-10 after one quarter. IMS trailed 25-22 at the halftime break. In the second half Pekin continued to hold their advantage and salted the game away down the stretch with free throws. Eli Gingerich led Iowa Mennonite with 13 points, Drake Brezina added 10 for IMS. With the loss IMS falls to 5-1 on the year.
