Winter is a time typically associated with joy and family, it is also a time of injuries often caused by shoveling snow or falling on ice. Physical Therapist Eric Turner with JET Physical Therapy, recommends keeping your walk ways free of ice and snow as well as wearing proper footwear. Avoiding shoes with smooth soles is recommended. When it comes to shoveling snow Turner says to take your time and to keep the shovel close to your body at all times. For more tips from Turner listen to In Touch With Southeast Iowa.
