Approximately $112,000 is coming to Washington County Conservation in exchange for trees. Steve Anderson, executive director, explains the Conservation Board recommended an $81,000 bid from Hammes Brothers Sawmill for about 30 acres of trees at the English River Wildlife Area and a $31,000 bid from R.J. Lumber Company for trees at the Clemons Creek Wildlife and Recreation Area. He says the efforts are to support the natural biology of the area. There will be walnut, hackberry and ash trees harvested. The supervisors approved both sales unanimously.
