Santa speaks to a child in Washington’s Central Park earlier this year. Photo by Sally Y. Hart

It is just hours until Santa Claus embarks on his annual trek around the world. He took time out of his busy morning to talk to KCII News. Santa described things at the North Pole being frantic right now, the sleigh has been repainted and the elves are taking all of the toys from the workshop to the sleigh. Santa explains that while the elves load the sleigh he takes time to rest before his big trip tonight. The reindeer are also getting ready for their flight.

When asked if there’s still time for children to get on the “nice” list, Santa said nobody is always nice and nobody is always mean, we’re all in between during the year.
