Forty-eight hours, that was the goal for Washington County road crews to have all roads clear after this latest snow and ice storm event. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius tells KCII News, the county doesn’t have the resources to plow around the clock like the state does and asks for citizens to remain patient with snow removal efforts. Thorius also notes that the county deployed dozens of vehicles to plow the snow and to treat the roads following the storm. He says the county is well stocked on sand and salt and the county expects to use 1,000 to 1,200 tons of sand and salt this winter.
