The offensive struggles for the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves girls’ basketball team (0-9 overall) were evident during the first half of the season. The Wolves, who held six of their nine opponents under 50 points, haven’t scored more than 32 points in a game during the first two months of the season.

The Wolves scoring isn’t due to a lack of effort. W-MU ranks third in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North with 106 offensive rebounds, and second in overall rebounds with 293.

Sophomore Lexee Hartsock leads the Wolves in scoring with 47 points. Sophomore Pearl Krieger-Coble has chipped in 37 points. Both have recorded more rebounds than points. Krieger-Coble is the team’s top rebounder, grabbing 90 boards, while Hartsock is second on the team with 51.

W-MU returns to the court Saturday, hosting the New London Tigers (4-4 overall) in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference tilt.
