A seven-day layoff ends today for the Washington Demon boys’ basketball team (3-9 overall). The Demons return to the court in Washington, hosting the Davis County Mustangs (2-11 overall) in a non-conference tilt.

The latest competition for the Washington boys’ basketball team came last Tuesday, a 58-51 road setback against the West Liberty Comets (5-7 overall). Senior Derek Anding overcame three fouls in the first quarter to lead Washington offense, scoring 17 of his team-best 22 points after halftime. His 17.3 points per game leads Washington, and ranks second in the Southeast Conference.

Both teams are looking to end losing streaks tonight. Washington has been on the losing side of their last four contests, while Davis County has lost their last six games.

The varsity battle is set to tip off at 8 p.m. tonight at Washington High School.
