Residents of Kalona can now cast ballots for their special election regarding $3.9 million in bonds. The bonds are being sought to help fund the Kalona community center project.

Sue Meeks, elections administrator for Washington County, announced absentee ballots are now available. People can vote early in person at the auditor’s office or they may request a ballot be mailed to their home. To receive a ballot by mail, fill out a request form and turn it into the auditor.

Absentee ballots must be received by the auditor’s office by 5 p.m. February 26th for the March 1st special city election.
