The Mid-Prairie wrestling team had a busy day Saturday at the Center Point-Urbana dual tournament.

Mid-Prairie dropped three of their four team duals on the day. The Golden Hawks opened the day with a dual against Dubuque Wahlert. The Golden Eagles topped the Golden Hawks by a team score of 45-27. Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Levi Duwa at 220lbs by a 7-1 decision, Duncan McCain by fall in 12 seconds at 113lbs, David Murray by fall at 132lbs, Cameron Tolander with a 9-2 decision at 170lbs, Jason Tew by an 8-2 decision at 182lbs, and Visouth Peterschmidt by fall at 195lbs.

In their second dual of the day Mid-Prairie came up short against the host Stormin’ Pointers by a 48-27 score. The Golden Hawks got wins in contested matches from Duncan McCain by fall at 113lbs, Brent Foster by fall at 152lbs, Jason Tew by a 7-1 decision at 182lbs, and Levi Duwa by fall at 220lbs.

Mid-Prairie’s win on the day came over New London by a 45-30 score. The Golden Hawks got wins in contested matches from Ethan Danner at 160lbs by a 9-4 decision and Visouth Peterschmidt by fall at 195lbs.

In their final dual of the day, Mid-Prairie was beaten by Oelwein 60-18. The Golden Hawks got wins in contested matches from Duncan McCain by fall at 113lbs, Jason Tew by fall at 182lbs and Visouth Peterschmidt by fall at 195lbs. With the 1-3 day Mid-Prairie is now 11-8 on the year and will wrap up the dual season Thursday when they travel to Durant to take on the Wildcats and Northeast of Gooselake.
