The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team is on the mat for the final conference dual of the year when they travel to Wilton Thursday night.

Mid-Prairie is 7-2 in the River Valley Conference and 10-4 overall for the year. In their last action Mid-Prairie took home the team championship at Saturday’s WACO Warrior Invite. Mid-Prairie has three ranked wrestlers in their lineup in class 2A according to the latest poll from thepredicament.com. Duncan McCain checks in at No. 5 at 113lbs, Visouth Peterschmidt is seventh at 195lbs and Levi Duwa is sixth at 220lbs.

Wilton enters tonight’s River Valley Conference dual with an overall record of 12-3, the Beavers are 9-2 in the RVC. In their last action Wilton wrestled in a quadrangular Tuesday night against Monticello, West Liberty and English Valleys. The Beavers went 2-1 on the night, beating Monticello and English Valleys but falling to the West Liberty Comets. The Beavers have three wrestlers in their lineup ranked in class 1A according to the latest poll from thepredicament.com. Trey Brisker is rated third at 145lbs, Tanner Greenwald is seventh at 152lbs and Bryce Oveson is 10th at 182lbs.

The winner of tonight’s dual will lock up a third place finish in the River Valley Conference.
