The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls basketball teams will look to get back on track Friday night when they host Mediapolis in Southeast Iowa Superconference doubleheader action.

The Iowa Mennonite girls enter action with an 0-8 over record, they are 0-7 in the SEISC. In their last game IMS fell to Lone Tree in Kalona 49-28. Suzanna Yoder led the way with eight points. On the season, Rachel Miller leads IMS at seven points per game. Suzanna Yoder leads IMS with 18 assists and 42 rebounds on the year.

The Mediapolis Bullettes enter the contest with an record of 6-2 overall and in conference play. In their last game the Bullettes beat Columbus 51-44 on Tuesday night. Mackenzie Rogers led the way with 17 points, Lily Johnson added 12. On the season Rogers leads the charge for MEPO with 20 points per game, best in the conference. Rogers has also totaled 80 assists this year, tops in the SEISC and Allie Massner leads the Bullettes with 51 rebounds on the season. These two teams opened the year against each other with Mediapolis taking a 63-16 win. Rogers finished with a game high 21 points. IMS was led by 10 points from Jess Bender.

The IMS boys are looking to get back on the winning track after back to back losses coming out of the Christmas break. IMS stands at 6-3 overall for the year and 4-2 in conference play. In their last game Iowa Mennonite fell at home against Lone Tree 53-49. Eli Gingerich had a huge night with 26 points, Drake Brezina finished with 12. On the season Gingerich leads the Superconference at 18 points per game, Nick Yutzy is also in double figures at 11 points per contest and Drake Brezina is scoring 10 points per game. Gingerich also owns the team lead for IMS with 60 assists for the year and Brezina has pulled down 42 rebounds to lead IMS.

Mediapolis enters Friday’s game with a record of 2-5 overall and in conference play. In their last game Mediapolis was beaten 76-58 by the Wapello Indians before break. Tristan Timmerman led MEPO in the contest with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dalton Carlson is the leading scorer for the Bulldogs on the year at 11 points per game. Alex Ensminger has 24 assists on the year, best on Mediapolis and seventh best in conference. Timmerman is the leading rebounder for the Bulldogs with 41 boards on the year. These two teams met twice a year ago with IMS winning both contests, 53-45 at Mediapolis and 51-32 in Kalona. Action begins tonight at 6PM at Hillcrest Union in Kalona.
